October is a great time of the year. The leaves are falling and school is back in session. As far as holidays go, there is somewhat of a lull. But, there is one holiday that saves us from the vacancy of days off and families come together. Halloween. One item that appears over and over with the trick or treaters is costumes. Every superhero from Superman to Spiderman to the Flash. Halloween Costumes has been a staple for Halloween trick or treaters since the holidays has been recognized. Every parent with kids knows the stress of finding a costume for their kids the night before Halloween. It becomes more of a responsibility than a holiday when you have to find the costume, the candy, and the decorations. The other negative for buying the costumes is the fact that after Halloween, the thing is probably going to be sitting in your garage for the next 364 days. With all that said, we can marvel in the fun, inventive, unorthodox holiday that is Halloween.

My future mother in law bought me the ugliest, most plain wedding frame since the 1800s. She definitely has no taste when it comes to wedding frames, or wedding favors ideas either. You should have seen the favors suggestions she had. She’s a sweet lady and I don’t want to hurt her feelings, but I don’t want to hang this ugly wedding picture frame where it can be seen. I guess I could stick the wedding photo frame in a drawer and whenever she comes over, I’ll hang it up. I don’t know, maybe we should just move out of state.

My Grandfather used to tell me that it’s important to keep a positive frame of mind when you’re under pressure. I keep his words close to my heart and with me always. My family and I lived with him until he passed away. I learned a lot from him and loved spending every minute I could with him. He taught me how to garden and work with wood in a carpenter sort of way – the list goes on.
